Aaron was recently invited to speak at the EWB-USA International Summit held in Denver, Colorado. He was a moderator and panelist, presenting on “Applying Resilience in Practice” in the context of climate adaptation. The session explored the meaning of resilience, compared and contrasted resilience frameworks and engaged the audience to think critically about climate adaptation strategies for their partner communities. Aaron also co-led the session “Participatory Community Engagement” which explored the historical context of participation in development projects and valuation of community resources and time. This session also presented a number of activities and strategies to engage communities in decision-making, including a component which allowed the audience to test activities themselves (shown in the photo).
